This boudoir session in Sanford, Florida, just outside of Orlando, gave her the chance to reconnect with herself in a whole new way. What started as a postpartum gift quickly turned into an empowering experience that helped her see her body, her confidence, and her beauty differently. At Ashley Jane Boudoir, she stepped outside of her comfort zone and into a version of herself that felt bold, confident, and completely unforgettable.
What was your experience like from start to end?
I reached out after finding Ashley on Instagram! Immediately, the first thing that I loved was her professionalism. I was skeptical about finding a photographer on Instagram, but with how well put-together her process is, I couldn’t not take the chance. Booking, the actual session, and even afterwards, Ashley has been nothing short of amazing, and I really got lucky with her.
What was the purpose of your session? Was it a gift for yourself? Your partner?
I did my session as a postpartum gift to myself, to remind myself to feel good about me and also as a gift to my husband for his birthday. He wants nothing more than to see me happy and feeling good about myself.
How did you feel during your photoshoot?
At first, I felt nervous. I’ve NEVER done anything like this, so it was completely out of my comfort zone. Once I got the hang of it (which didn’t take long with Ashley’s incredible direction), I felt like I did this for a living! It was sooooo fun, and I felt so empowered.
What was your favorite part of your session?
My favorite part was how my confidence, vibes, and posing all changed with each outfit I put on. I felt like I was living in my alter ego for the moment and took on a new personality every time I changed.
How has your boudoir experience affected you or changed you?
Honestly, I see myself so differently now. Instead of looking at myself and picking things apart or seeing myself in the mirror and maybe I’m just not feeling how my skin looks that day, I literally look at the photos I took and tell myself, “THAT’S ME, I LOOK LIKE THAT,” and I get to say it honestly and proudly.
How would you rate your boudoir experience on a scale of 1-10?
Oh, an absolute 10000000/10.
What advice would you give someone who was nervous about or hesitant to book their own boudoir experience with me?
I promise you it’s worth it. I know I wouldn’t know what it’d be if I didn’t do it, but I would’ve regretted never trying.
If you’ve ever felt like you needed to “wait” to feel confident in your body, let this be your reminder: You don’t. Sometimes it just takes one experience to see yourself in a completely new way. And when you do, everything changes.
