What began as a birthday gift quickly turned into an empowering experience Lady R will never forget! Her boudoir session with Ashley Jane Photography, your go-to boudoir photographer in Sanford, Florida, was full of laughter, self-love, and seriously stunning moments. What was your experience like from start to end?
Chill vibes and sexy on. From the walk in the door we talked through all my fun pieces and then it was hair and makeup for some full on pampering. Set the mood with a bomb ass play list and let the vibe take over.
What was the purpose of your session? Was it a gift for yourself? Your partner?
A gift for me turning 40 this year, to myself (although my husband thinks it’s the best gift I gave me). We only get this one body and it goes through so many beautiful transitions that we never celebrate. I figured since I am not getting younger I should capture where I am today. I am not my fittest self but I am celebrating my funnest version!
How did you feel during your photoshoot?
Totally in a vibe. Ashley is so welcoming and goes with the flow. We tried things that I thought would look cool and I tried what she suggested. I got some of the most awesome shots just trusting her tweaks. If it feels strange, it will probably be super HOT.
What was your favorite part of your session?
Getting to do some really fun 40 themed shots that were a little girly, a little sexy and a ton of sassy.
How has your boudoir experience affected you or changed you?
It is alllll about celebrating where we are. I am no super model, my body isn’t perfect but after seeing the un-edited shots I didn’t care. I thought I would be so critical of every imperfection because I am not my fittest self. But it did the opposite, it seriously made me thankful for journey it took to get here and just to enjoy and be ok with the body I have!
How would you rate your boudoir experience on a scale of 1-10?
10 for sure. The space is soooo cute and Ashley and her team made a safe space to explore and just have fun being you!
What advice would you give someone who was nervous about or hesitant to book their own boudoir experience with me?
No one says boudoir has to be nudes or raunchy. Boudoir is all about sexy. What makes you feel sexy or what your partner thinks you’re sexy in should be the focus. I always say, if you look good, you feel good, you do good. If you feel good in what you’re in (or not in), then do it! And if you wait to you are ready, it will never happen. Go for it!
