What began as a thoughtful gift for her future husband quickly transformed into a beautiful moment of self-empowerment for Lady M. Her boudoir shoot with Ashley Jane Photography in Sanford, Florida, allowed her to embrace her body and confidence in a way she never had before. What was your experience like from start to end?
The whole experience was so welcoming and warm. Ashley was so opening and inviting over the phone consultation, she always responded to my questions in a timely manner and on the day of the shoot her attitude made me so comfortable in myself.
What was the purpose of your session? Was it a gift for yourself? Your partner?
The shoot had a dual purpose, I was truly doing it for myself but telling myself that it was a gift for my “future” husband gave me the push I needed to do the session.
How did you feel during your photoshoot?
I felt comfortable. The entire atmosphere was so relaxing. Even in someone of the more strenuous poses I never felt self conscious about my body.
What was your favorite part of your session?
The bathtub, there was just something about it that felt good. But also bonding over my music choices which helped so much because I was originally worried about the genre.
How has your boudoir experience affected you or changed you?
I feel amazing about myself. Now when I feel my self doubt creeping in I can look at the photos and see myself looking like a model. My husband loves them and is constantly talking about how much he loves the shoot.
What advice would you give someone who was nervous about or hesitant to book their own boudoir experience with me?
Honestly just book the consultation. I’m a very deliberate person and I will sit and mull over everything but just booking the first consult gave me so much more insight.
Also just trust Ashley. This entire process is hard on a female brain, you are going to criticize everything about your own body. Ashley is going to see you at your most vulnerable but she doesn’t truly know about your specific “problem areas” like you do. She is an outsider looking to highlight your strengths and a photographer who knows how to pose and use those strengths to make you shine. So overall be open about your self conscious areas and trust her because she knows what she’s doing.
