Lady C’s experience with Ashley Jane Boudoir located in historic Sanford, FL, and how this empowering boudoir session helped her embrace womanhood, emerging with newfound confidence and remarkable ease in front of the camera lens.

What was your experience like from start to end?

My first boudoir photo shoot experience far exceeded my expectations throughout the entire process. When I stumbled across Ashley’s Boudoir Instagram page and subsequently her website, I immediately felt like I had come across the right woman for the job. The consultation solidified those initial thoughts. Ashley is just such a cool, down-to-earth, relatable woman, that any of my fears or nerves I had in making this decision and selecting the right photographer for this experience, faded away. After scheduling the shoot, Ashley had a simple questionnaire and an option for pre-shoot consultation and studio preview. I thought these were fabulous. It allowed Ashley to get to know me more on a personal level, help curate the overall vision for the shoot, and ease any concerns or fears I might have. So much so that, she had a curated playlist of my favorite tunes! The day of the photo shoot felt like a dream. It felt natural, I felt beautiful and so confident in my own skin. I’d never done a photo shoot before, so I was afraid I was going to feel awkward. Her guidance, our fun commentary, and our chats throughout, made it all so seamless. By the end of the shoot, I couldn’t wait for the final product. Then came the review! I was blown away. So many incredible photos, I thought surely I’m not going to be able to narrow this down. But, her organization and method of reviewing the photos, made the selection process fun. I truly couldn’t believe the woman I was seeing in the photos were me. Her artistry and photography skills, paired with her absolutely beautiful studio, left me with a keepsake that I will cherish for life.

What was the purpose of your session? Was it a gift for yourself? Your partner?

This year I was turning 35. I had always struggled with my self-confidence and self-love growing up. In the last five years, I finally felt that I was growing into my own woman, and was quite proud of all that I’ve accomplished. That self-confidence has certainly grown. So has that self-love. But, I still wanted to expand upon that confidence and love for myself. I wanted to feel empowered and sexy. I thought that if I did a boudoir photoshoot, I would tap into a side of my womanhood that needed to be embraced, seen, and loved by me. So really this was a true gift to myself.

How did you feel during your photoshoot?

I felt sexy, confident, and beautiful during my photoshoot. With Ashley’s guidance on placement, it all felt natural. At first, I could tell my body was a bit rigid and stiff, but only because I had never done anything like this before. I soon became more relaxed and loved the fact that I was able to have a glass of wine to sip on in between outfit changes. By the end of the shoot, I left feeling like a real boss babe and was on top of the world.

What was your favorite part of your session?

My favorite part of the shoot was just letting Ashley’s creative juices flow. I agreed and whole heartedly loved her vision and was even able to have my own input.

How has your boudoir experience affected you or changed you?

I have embraced allowing myself to feel sexy and confident in my own skin. It was a key piece that was missing and left me craving more. So much so, that I can’t wait to finish collaborating with Ashley for another photo shoot.

How would you rate your boudoir experience on a scale of 1-10?

What advice would you give someone who was nervous about or hesitant to book their own boudoir experience with me?

Don’t be. You’ll wish you have done it sooner.
