GET TO KNOW THE TEAM

A: We have been working together for about 8 years.  I met Ashley at my sister in laws wedding she was doing the wedding photos and I was doing the hair and makeup. Match instantly made <3

Q: How long have you been doing hair and makeup?

A: 18 years

Q: What’s your favorite part of providing hair and makeup for boudoir shoots?

A: The finished product. Love the client’s expressions!

Q: Do you offer other services?

A: Yes, we offer on-site hair and makeup services for events and weddings.

Q: Do you offer trial runs?

A: Yes, we offer them in our studio in Apopka and on location.

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR HAIR AND MAKEUP WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO SHOOT

Q: What’s the process for getting to know what I want?

A: Usually, we like to know what your typical night out makeup looks like as well as what you don’t like. This helps us get to know what you’re comfortable with.  We can then come up with your perfect makeup look to enhance your natural beauty.

Q: How should I prepare my hair?

A: Wash the day before/ Blow-dry smooth.

Q: How should I prepare my skin?

A:  Hydrate, Exfoliate, Moisturize

Q: What should I wear to get my hair and makeup done?

A: Something light with buttons, that way it’s easy to change and won’t leave any lines for photos.

Q: Do you have a list of dos and don’ts?

A: Yes, here is some of our top ones.

DO’S

-Wash, and blow dry your hair the night before the wedding/event

-Have clean hair & 100% COMPLETELY DRY

-Have hair brushed and knots combed out

– If you have hair Extensions: Wash, dry, and brush smooth

-Have clean skin, remove all previous makeup

-Get your brows manicured (Waxing should be done a week before)

DON’TS

-Avoid SPF & heavy serums with active ingredients (this can cause camera flashback)

-Avoid chemical peels/facials days prior to the event.

-Wear tight clothing or hair ties/rubber bands that could leave indentations on your skin– these marks take a while to relax and do not photograph well

Q: How long will hair and makeup take?

A: 1.5 hours at most

Q: Should I get a spray tan?

A: Only if this is something you are used to doing, spray tans can be a bit tricky.  We always suggest having a test run to make sure it’s something you like.

Q: What if I don’t know what I want?

A: We can always look at pictures and come up with a plan and baby steps are always best!

OK, BUT WHAT IF I AM NERVOUS ABOUT GETTING MY HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE..?

Q: I don’t normally wear a lot of makeup, what do you recommend so my photos turn out beautiful and still feel like me?

A: Going with a light water base foundation. Keeping the colors neutral. And a light contour is always best! We usually do a technique called reverse contouring.

Q: What are your hygiene processes?

A: Sanitizing all our brushes throughout. We use disposable wands. all our pallets get sprayed with alcohol prior.

Q: I have sensitive skin, can I bring my own makeup or hair products?

A: Yes! Absolutely!
