Why I’m Still in Love with Boudoir After 15 Years

Celebrating My Birthday Month & 15+ Years of Boudoir

August has always been my month—it’s my birthday month, and every year it makes me slow down and reflect on the things I’m most grateful for. Right at the top of that list? This incredible career I’ve built. I’ve been photographing boudoir for over 15 years, and yet I still get that little rush of excitement before every session.

And since it’s my birthday month, let’s be real—it’s also a time for extra sparkle and a little self-celebration. Because after all these years, I’m still in love with what I do. Boudoir isn’t just my job—it’s my passion, my joy, and the best birthday gift I keep giving myself, year after year.

Why I Love Boudoir Photography

Boudoir photography has a special kind of magic. It’s not just about pretty lingerie or perfectly lit rooms—it’s about capturing a version of yourself that feels powerful, beautiful, and unapologetically you. Every time I step behind the camera for a boudoir session, I’m reminded why I fell in love with this art form in the first place.

It’s About Confidence, Not Perfection

So many people walk into a session saying, “I’m nervous,” or “I don’t know how to pose.” But by the time we’re done, they’re glowing—standing taller, smiling wider, and often saying, “I can’t believe that’s me.” Boudoir photography has this incredible way of showing you what the rest of the world already sees: your beauty, your strength, your uniqueness.

It’s a Celebration

Some clients book sessions as gifts for partners, but what I love most is when it’s a gift for themselves. A boudoir session can be a celebration of a milestone, a season of change, or simply a reminder that you deserve to feel good in your own skin—right now, not “someday.”

It’s Intimate and Empowering

Boudoir is deeply personal. It’s a space where vulnerability becomes art and where empowerment comes from seeing yourself in a new light. My favorite part is watching someone relax into the process, realizing this is their time, their story, their moment to shine.

Why It Matters

In a world that often tells us we need to change to be “enough,” boudoir photography whispers the opposite: you are already more than enough. It’s a love letter to yourself—one that you can hold onto forever.

That’s why I love boudoir photography. It’s art, it’s empowerment, and it’s a celebration of the beautifully imperfect, one-of-a-kind person in front of the lens. And honestly? That will never stop inspiring me.

And since it’s my birthday month, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than helping more amazing people see themselves the way I do—confident, radiant, and absolutely stunning. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to book your own boudoir session… consider this your birthday invitation from me to you. Let’s create something unforgettable.

P.S. Yes, there will be cake.
